The LACN consortium offers many opportunities for professional development and connection with colleagues who understand the unique opportunities and challenges of providing career development and support to liberal arts college students. As a volunteer-run organization, LACN relies on the contributions of its members to forward this important work.

JOIN A COMMITTEE

LACN has three standing committees, Benchmarking, Professional Development, and Membership, and the Leadership Forum Task Force. Joining a committee is a great way to connect with colleagues doing similar work at other institutions, develop new skills, and pursue leadership opportunities.  No invite necessary; pop in to a meeting and check it out!  In addition to working on the strategic goals of the consortium, committees provide a space for professional development and sharing of best practices.

ATTEND AN UPCOMING EVENT

LACN regularly hosts peer-led discussions on relevant, timely topics; vendor product demonstrations; and monthly meet ups for career center directors and employer relations staff. The consortium also coordinates an annual Leadership Forum which is held at one of our member schools. All events are posted to our Google calendar.  Subscribe now so you don’t miss out on anything!

PARTICIPATE IN A COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

LACN utilizes Google groups to serve as a communication hub for communities of practice within the consortium. Nine different groups are organized by function area and topic. Members use this space to post questions, advertise upcoming events, and share job opportunities with colleagues. Find your people by signing up on this Google form.  Groups include advisors, mid-level managers, employer relations, professionals of color, and more!
