The mission of the Liberal Arts Career Network is to support career education professionals who prepare liberal arts college students for success. To advance this mission, LACN offers members the following benefits:

Benchmark Surveys

The consortium conducts four surveys of the membership each year. Data are collected on topics such as professional staff salaries, career office operations, first destinations outcomes and internship funding. Member schools receive summary reports which provide the ability to compare their own data and situation with other colleges and universities that share a common purpose and educational philosophy.

Professional Development

The consortium offers many opportunities to supports the professional growth and advancement of career staff. This includes peer-led topical discussions, mentoring and small-group communities of practice, and a series of listservs for different positions/roles within career services.

Annual Leadership Forum

The Leadership Forum takes place in June and is hosted on the campus of one of our member schools. This is a space for career services leaders to deepen relationships, gain new perspectives, and find real solutions to the work of preparing liberal arts college students for success.

Vendor Demonstrations and Price Discounts

The consortium regularly hosts demonstrations with career services vendors and is often able to leverage member use of platforms to negotiate product discounts. We invite vendors to submit information on their product with this single form. By doing so, products will be under consideration by 45 schools.
